Water is a natural resource which must be conserved to sustain aquifers, ecosystems and wildlife.
Within the terms of reference of the Dacorum Environmental Forum, and in support of the Borough’s Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP), the Water Group seeks to ensure:
· protection of the biological value and diversity of rivers and streams
. diversity of ponds and aquatic wetland habitats to support a wide range of wildlife
. sustainable abstraction from groundwater aquifers and viable maintenance of the water table
